Coteau-du-Lac (Quebec), October 3, 2016 – C.A.T. Inc based in Coteau-du-Lac, Montérégie won the 2016 SmartWay Excellence Award for Carrier of the Year, at a gala held in Las Vegas, Nevada, for the American Trucking Associations’ Annual Conference.
C.A.T. Inc is one of 43 recipients of this distinction, awarded for, among other things, converting one third of its 325-truck fleet to green energy, setting up a Gain Clean Fuel station, as well as building CNG stations in Canada and the US in the past year. “We are very proud of this honour, which again shows that our concern for innovation and our continuous improvement process are important factors in the transportation industry,” declared Daniel Goyette, chairman and founder of the company, which was created in 1978.

“Our SmartWay program is completing its 12th year, and the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) recognizes its best transportation partners for their commitment to a transportation supply chain that is both effective and environmentally friendly,” said Christopher Grundler, director EPA’s Office of Transportation and Air Quality.
“Winning the SmartWay Award clearly shows that companies are able to compete and even prosper while reducing fuel costs, carbon footprint and their impact on the environment”.
