Mandate

As an experienced Trailer Technician with C.A.T, you’ll use industry-leading technology and repair techniques to get our state-of-the-art vehicles back up and running in high-quality condition. Based out of our terminal in Mississauga and with our mobile service truck, you’ll take the lead to perform minor and major trailer repairs along with general maintenance, while enjoying the advantages of working for a winning team that’s got your back.

Role

  • Independently conduct thorough analysis of operational data to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with the Corporate Pricing Team to develop and implement data-driven pricing strategies.
  • Generate/update regular reports, communicating key performance indicators and insights to stakeholders.
  • Independently work closely with various departments to understand business requirements, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains through data analysis.
  • Demonstrate a strong interest in staying updated on industry trends and best practices in data analytics, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Serve as a backup to the Pricing Analysts, able to understand the market dynamics and how to price freight.

Responsibilities

Perform all levels of Trailer Repair and maintenance services. Duties may include the overhaul, adjustment, replacement and repair of all series of motor truck and trailer equipment including, but not limited to the following: Minor Sheet Metal Repair, Composite Bonding/ Repair, Welding/ Fabricating, Suspension Repair/ Alignment, Box Repair/ Electrical/ Brake/Cooling Systems, Surface Preparation.

  • Identify and determine parts required for repair of disassembled van trailer units.
  • Identify warrantable repairs and document on repair order.
  • Maintain work area appearance and safety.
  • Have a keen eye for detail and precision when completing body repairs.
  • Road test vehicles when necessary.
  • Perform duties with little or no supervision and in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor.
  • Compile detailed parts list to minimize delays is completing repairs.
  • Work well in a team environment and be a team player.

Qualifications

  • * RED SEAL Certification*
  • 6 years practical experience (or an equivalent combination of related education and experience).
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Vocational/technical school preferred.
  • Specialized training and experience in the repair of all series of trailer required.
  • Proficiency in the use of all tools of trade (including welding equipment and power tools) required.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Basic computer skills required.
